Economic & Employment Realities of 2SLGBTQIA+ People

A Regional Evidence Brief Across the Caribbean, Canada, and the United States

About the Report

Economic security remains one of the most urgent and under-examined dimensions of equality for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. While workplace inclusion has gained visibility in recent years, far less attention has been paid to the structural forces shaping employment outcomes, income stability, and long-term economic mobility across our region.

This regional evidence brief brings together new data and analysis to examine the economic and employment realities of 2SLGBTQIA+ people across the Caribbean, Canada, and the United States. It moves beyond individual experiences to explore how systems, including labour markets, immigration regimes, workplace norms, and legal enforcement, interact to produce patterns of inclusion, precarity, and exclusion.
